Both species are geographically isolated. They belong to the Genus<em> Chionis<\/em>. <\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><span style=\"font-family: Verdana,Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; font-size: small;\">(The other Sheathbill is the Black-faced Sheathbill (<em>Chionis minor<\/em>), also known as Lesser Sheathbill are found in the sub-Antarctic Islands of the Indian Ocean. This species has totally black bill and leg colour, although variable, is different being black to pinkish-white. Non breeding birds and during the winter (of the Southern Hemisphere) birds are found in the south east of South America &#8211; Patagonia, Uruguay, the Falklands and occasionally as far north as Brazil. center;\">Omnivorous &#8211; steals krill, fish, eggs and small chicks from breeding penguins \u2013 also eat carrion, faeces, algae and invertebrates \u2013 limpets are common<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Breeding coincides with penguins and cormorants from whom they steal<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Most fights are during the courtship period<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Most conspicuous display is the \u2018bowing ceremony\u2019 used in, during and after pair formation.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Normally nests in a crevice
